Meet Ash
About Me
I’m passionate about supporting children, youth, and families as they navigate the many experiences and challenges that come with growing, learning, parenting, and connecting with community.
I graduated from Western Oregon University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work with students from preschool through 8th grade, including in special education settings. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the many different ways children learn, communicate, develop, and experience the world.
I am also a Certified Traditional Health Worker, providing family-centered, peer-delivered services. My work is grounded in a family-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach. I believe that families are the experts in their own experiences, and my role is to listen, collaborate, provide support, and help identify practical paths forward.
I take a holistic approach to wellness, recognizing that many interconnected areas of life influence a person's well-being. I consider ten areas of health: social, emotional, intellectual, nutritional, financial, environmental, physical, spiritual, dental, and occupational wellness.
Advocacy & Connection
A significant part of my work is helping families navigate systems and access the resources they need. I advocate for children, youth, parents, and caregivers to have equitable access to education, care, mental health services, and community resources.
I have extensive knowledge of community systems and services, including:
-
Education and special education, including IEPs and 504 plans
-
Medical and behavioral health services
-
Mental health supports
-
Disability services
-
Addiction and recovery services
-
Community-based resources and supports
-
Family and youth services
Navigating these systems can feel overwhelming, especially when a family is already managing complex needs. I strive to help families understand their options, communicate their needs, and connect with resources without having to navigate everything alone.
My Approach
I have a genuine passion for learning and for supporting youth and their parents and caregivers in developing strong, healthy, and harmonious relationships. I believe that meaningful support should extend beyond simply addressing a current challenge—it should help children, youth, and families develop skills they can carry into their everyday lives.
I am particularly passionate about mental health, accessibility, and inclusion. I believe every person deserves to feel understood, respected, included, and supported in the environments where they live, learn, work, and participate.
My goal is to create a supportive space where families and caregivers can ask questions, explore possibilities, build on their strengths, and find practical strategies that work for their individual circumstances.
You don't have to navigate complex needs alone. I’m here to listen, collaborate, advocate, and empower families as they work toward greater connection, confidence, and well-being.
