About the event
Join us for a sensory-friendly creative arts session based around character development and cosplay. This session is designed to serve neurodivergent youth and allies who are makers, dreamers, creators, and artists and who also have a love for fandom and craft. We will dive into self-expression by designing and developing characters, stories, lore, and exploring character traits, story elements, publishing, costuming, and more. We celebrate individuality, promote a growth mindset, body positivity, and foster a supportive environment where every skill level is welcome.
Each week, there will be a lesson on materials and character development, with time to create and connect with others in a supportive environment. (Ages 7-17)
The space is equipped with color-changing LED lighting, swing chairs, sensory tools, and a calming corner.
Core Values:
Creativity: unlocking imagination through tactile art.
Craftsmanship: Teaching practical skills like sewing, painting, and sculpting
